Snow, Again....

We woke up this morning to a blanket of snow on the ground. The previous snow had pretty much melted except the large piles the snow plows pushed up, but it is white once again. I still think it is a beautiful sight. In Texas we would be having a snow day but up here it's just another day with more snow. New York and Pennsylvania had a lot more snow, due to the storm tracking more North and missing us. The weatherman thinks come Tuesday we will have another snow storm and that one just may bring more snow than this past storm. We shall see.

What a Prayer

I have been reading a book called Let Go by Shelia Walsh. I purchased this book at the Women of Faith Conference this past year and I have truly enjoyed this book. There are a lot of aspects of the bible this book has opened up to me. I wanted to share with you one of the most incredible prayers I have ever heard. I am sharing this prayer with you as Shelia Walsh shared the prayer with everyone of the people who read her book. I hope this prayer touches you like it did me. I can't help but think if we all prayed like this daily and taught our children to truly love the Lord and serve the Lord how much of a better place our World would be.

In the strong name of Jesus Christ, I stand against the world, the flesh, and the devil. I resist every force that would seek to distract me from my center in God. I reject the distorted concepts and ideas that would make sin plausible and desirable. I oppose every attempt to keep me from knowing full fellowship with God.
By the power of the Holy Spirit I speak directly to the thoughts, emotions, and desires of my heart and command you to find your satisfaction in the infinite variety of God's love rather than the bland diet of sin. I call upon the good, the true, and the beautiful to rise up within me and the evil to subside. I ask for an increase of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
By the authority of almighty God, I tear down Satan's strongholds in my life, in the lives of those I love, and in the society in which I live. I take into myself the weapons of truth, righteousness, peace, salvation, the word of God, and prayer. I command every evil influence to leave; you have no right here and I allow you no point of entry. I ask for an increase of faith, hope, and love so that, by the power of God, I can be a light set on a hill, causing truth and justice to flourish.
These things I pray for the sake of him who loved me and gave himself for me. Amen.

Snow, its coming

Okay, so all of our friends and family in Texas are getting snow and having a blast. The snow storm was, yes that is was going to miss us.......Oh but now it will hit us. We are predicted to get 3 inches of snow come Thursday if not more and just north of us they are predicted to have a blizzard(35 mph wind). Good thing I filled our extra propane tank today, looks like we may need it Thursday. Kallie has asked already to go out and make a Snowman/Snow Friend so.......I will be posting pictures of Kallie's Snowman hopefully come Thursday.

Finally, long enough hair

Looking back, No hair.

If you can remember back 2 or 3 years ago we had NO hair. I began to wonder how long it was going to take to get any length of hair at all. Well we are now a little over 3 years old and we have hair and not just hair but enough to french braid. So I did just that this morning. Kallie's hair is very fine so I had to make two braids but it works and keeps her hair out of her face.

New Time Out

So Kallie discovered a new time out. Okay I am just joking, but she had a run in with her Daddy's bucket and I would say the bucket got the best of her. I had to take a pictures which didn't amuse her at all. Hope you get a laugh.

I have finally got brave enough to work with Kallie on using scissors. I don't know why but I am not a fan of her using them, but she has to learn. So today while doing a little Pre-K school work one of our lessons was on cutting and using scissors. I have to say for the first time she did a pretty good job. I have to say though I am well aware she has been sneaking scissors and cutting things up. We still have work to do but I am proud of her. We cut out her number worm so she could practice her numbers. Of course you can tell which numbers Mommy cut out and which ones Kallie cut out.

On Thursday we got a call letting us know that we were getting sent to Washington DC to work snow claims. Of course it started snowing at our house in Stephenville Thursday and we were predicted to receive 5 to 9 inches, so we weren't sure if we would be able to get out of our house. Needless to say we were and I took pictures along the way. I think the Lord that the roads stayed good, but the farther north we went the more snow we saw. Once we hit Virginia the snow increased greatly. I had to take pictures through the truck windows to share with everyone. Saturday late night we got to the RV park so we just pulled in, started the heaters and slept. Sunday morning we got up and started setting to RV up and getting ready to work. I had to take pictures of Kallie playing in the snow. I am a Texan, so I am a little in awe of all of this snow. I know all the residence of the North are very tired of the snow. I am loving the snow and the beauty of it right now, ask me tomorrow and I might tell you different. J/J!

Quilt Pictures

For the past year now I have been keeping myself busy crafting, at least when my 3 year old lets me. Quickly I am finding out that I LOVE quilting. I am not by any means a pro but I am enjoying it. Quilting is a way I can use my artistic ability in putting fabrics together and the pattern of a quilt. I learn something everyday and fall in love with each quilt I do. It seems each quilt has a different story with every stitch and fabric that goes into it. I have also found myself making necklaces as well. It's kinds the same story as with quilting. It makes my heart smile to make necklaces and quilts and hope that someone will fall in love with them. All of my quilts and necklaces are for sale. My sister (Amber), my mother-in-law (Janice) and I have been doing a few craft fairs and I think we all have found something we love to make.

Hunting Buddy

Kallie loves when hunting season starts, for one her birthday is here but equally she gets to go hunting with her Daddy. It seemed colder this year so I tried to bundle her up extra, hoping she would stay some-what warm. Next we load up in the mule and off we go. My daughter has caught on to the feeding system. You pull the rope on the Mule and the corn comes out the feeder, hitting the bell and the deer come running, if they are not already waiting, which is how it is 9 times out of 10. I had to take pictures of her in action. Kallie also received a BB Gun to which she had to make sure we took it and she had it in the hunting blind................the next part still makes me laugh today. We got settled in the hunting blind and a 10 point buck walked out, Kallie's eyes got a big as golf balls. She turned and looked at her Daddy and said, "Daddy give me my gun I got to kill me a deer." Trying to be quite we laugh a little to which she didn't understand. I told her she could shot her gun at the mesquite tree near us but not that buck. Kallie looked at me just as serious as can be and said, "Momma, I can't eat that tree." I guess at least she knows. What am I going to do with her?

Cookies for Santa

Christmas I one of my favorite Holidays and Fall/Winter is by far my favorite time of the year. Well it has flowed over to my daughter, so while out Christmas shopping she spotted an apron she had to have to make cookies for Santa. So being swayed by Kallie's cute, begging look I bought her the apron but little did I know it can with an apron for Mommy too. My apron said Mommy and Kallie's said Mommy's Sugar and Spice. So Christmas Eve we both put our aprons on and got to making yummy cookies for Santa. Our Santa isn't as fun because he doesn't like yummy decorated cookies and we love to make yummy decorated cookies. So we keep a few plain for Santa and a cookie or two with lite decoration. My little girl decided the cookies had enough icing and she need to eat the icing. I couldn't help but laugh, at least it's only once a year.

Last Christmas we started a tradition of going to Build-A-Bear Workshop at Christmas and letting Kallie make an animal. So after visiting Santa we headed to Build-A-Bear. So after looking at all the animals Kallie picked out a beautiful rabbit. The stuffing of the animals is so sweet.....Kallie picked out which heart she wanted for her rabbit and gave it a big kiss. Once her rabbit was stuffed to her liking we went over to the walls and walls of outfits. Bunny Rabbit soon had an outfit and she was soon Cinderella Bunny Rabbit, crown and all. Kallie also had to give her a bath at the blower station which I think is her favorite part. Last of all we went over a printed her birth certificate and gave Bunny Rabbit a name......"Bunny". It works. There isn't a day when Bunny isn't by Kallie's side. I love my little girl but I think we started an expensive tradition. We will see.

Santa Claus

This year visiting Santa Claus went better than last year. Last year I felt so bad for Santa. We were the typical scene with little kids.........little girl sitting on Santa's lap or should I say trying to escape Santa's lap, screaming and reaching for Mommy. Well this year we sat on Santa's lap and didn't scream but you could have promised Kallie anything she wanted in the world for a smile and she still wouldn't have given you a smile. Maybe next year will go even better.

We received an amazing amount of snow this year. Kallie and I bundled up and preceded to play in the winter wonderland of snow. So I decided Kallie needed to know what a snow ball was so I made a snowball and gave a chunk toward Kallie. Needless to say it hit her in the chest and boy did it make her mad. So then I got covered in snow by the way of a 3 year old. She now knows what a snowball is and I have a feeling come next snow I won't get the first hit in.....I may be receiving it. That's okay. Here are a few pictures of the beautiful snow. Hope you enjoy.
